The Queer and Questioning Blog, QNQ for short, was created in January of 2022 with its first post published in February. This blog was created with the intention of speaking on queer representation in media, along with sharing my experiences as a Caribbean born queer person. Growing up in the Caribbean you witness various forms of criticism and discrimination against LGBTQIA+ individuals from laws, to songs and even individuals daily sharing their unsolicited opinions on the matter. As a result, I kept searching for queer individuals within my country who resembled me or had similar experiences to mine but often came up blank.

However, through this platform, I want to build a safe space for those who are queer or those who simply are questioning their gender, sexuality or anything in between. So, I can find those who resemble me or help those through my experiences you can feel a little less lonely in the world. It’s not a sin to be different or live your truth. You deserve happiness and love and to be surrounded by people who don’t just see you and accept you but understand you. Here I hope you find your chosen family. And, if by sticking around you find out you are not queer then that’s also okay everyone’s journey to sexuality and gender is different and valid, this can be a safe space for allies of the LGBTQIA+ community.
