Who is Iniko? Why you should be listening to them!

Welcome to Music Mondays where I will be sharing some of my favourite music with you mainly queer musicians that I have discovered within the month. This month I recently downloaded TikTok back and I was wonderfully reminded of an amazing singer. April’s Music Monday goes out to Iniko!




Who is Iniko? According to the singer’s Spotify, Iniko is one of the most heavenly new voices on the indie soul scene. They are a gifted songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalists who is at the forefront of an alternative soul revolution. Their sound is a mash-up of various music styles that leaves the listener's palate refreshed and wanting to hear more. And, it couldn’t have been put better. When listening to Iniko, their sound feels ethereal, extraterrestrial and soothing. I can imagine their voice echoing in the background while I do mundane tasks and imagine them taking me elsewhere from here. Need more reasons as to why you need to listen to Iniko? They are black, non-binary/GENDERLESS with ties to Jamaica. Their music brings a new feel and flame to what I once thought R&b should sound like. Their creative nature does not just stop at music, from the way they dress and express themselves, they are truly on another level. I am excited about how their musical career progress and notehing but well wishes. All that being said! STREAM HOURGLASS!!
